IBANGS Members:

IBANGS Members can deeply engage with the Society by actively participating in its governance, scholarly communication, and outreach initiatives. 

• For research, members are encouraged to present their latest findings at the annual Genes, Brain and Behavior meeting, submit symposium proposals, or contribute to the society’s official journal through reduced-fee publications. 

• Those interested in driving policy and outreach related to the Genes, Brains, and Behavior scientific journal can volunteer on the Publications Committee.

• Those interested in teaching and mentorship can join the Education and Training Committee, contribute to the society’s curated teaching resources, or participate in the monthly IBANGS Seminar Series to share specialized knowledge with trainees. 

• Those interested in ensuring strong international membership and outreach can volunteer to be a part of the Membership Committee.

• Members interested in selecting those awarded for innovative or distinguished service can volunteer to be part of the Awards Committee. 

• Members can drive science advocacy by joining the Advocacy and Inclusion Committee, where they work to bridge the gap between neurogenomic research and public policy, by utilizing the society’s advocacy guides to engage with local communities and the media, and working to create an inclusive society. 

• By running for positions on the Executive Committee or volunteering for specialized groups like the DEI Committee, members directly shape the strategic direction and ethical standards of the behavioral genetics field.
